At the New York State Bar Association’s Annual Meeting on January 29, 2015, Partner Leslie J. Snyder presented a Continuing Legal Education course entitled, “Telecommunications Law Update” to the Municipal Law Section. The presentation covered recent case law regarding the Telecommunications Act of 1996 and the Federal Communication Commission’s October 17, 2014 Report and Order regarding the “Acceleration of Broadband Deployment by Improving Wireless Facilities Siting Policies.” The FCC Report and Order clarified the FCC Shot Clock Order and expanded on the Middle Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act of 2012 (the “TRA” or “Spectrum Act”). The presentation was well attended by municipal land use attorneys throughout the State.
